Practice Card Scoring

5 pieces with between 7 to 13 repetitions equals a "1" card score (1+ repetition per day average on all 5 pieces).

5 pieces with between 14 to 20 repetitions equals a "2" card score (2+ repetitions per day average on all 5 pieces).

5 pieces with between 21 to 27 repetitions equals a "3" card score (3+ repetitions per day average on all 5 pieces).

5 pieces with 28+ repetitions equals a "4" card score (4+ repetitions per day average on all 5 pieces).

"4" is traditionally the highest score a card can earn.

Sometimes, a card is so far above even that "4" level, that it receives a "5" score.  That is typically a card that has 42 or more repetitions on all 5 pieces, but might depend on other factors, also (e.g. significant "extra credit").

We never score a card higher than a "5" -- no matter how many repetitions there are.  This is so that students have consistent practice each week (rather than try to "make up" most of their points later in the term, after not practicing as much earlier in the term).

Practice on pieces and exercises outside of our folder earns extra credit and can raise the score of the card.

Practice on more than 5 pieces can also earn extra credit and can raise the score of the card.

Many cards have uneven repetitions on various pieces, and we have developed ways to account for that.  For example, if there are 28 repetitions on a piece, 21 repetitions on another piece, 9 on another, etc.
